Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language (SMIL)

SMIL enables simple authoring of interactive audiovisual presentations. Using nothing more than a text
editor, developers using SMIL can create "rich media" or multimedia presentations integrating streaming
audio and video with images, text, or any other media type. With SMIL, authors can describe the temporal
behavior of a multimedia presentation, associate hyperlinks with media objects, and describe the layout of
the presentation on a screen.
